A. In South Africa we are still experiencing high levels of poverty but I would certainly not define it as a famine, if you are referring to Southern Africa and include countries like Zimbabwe and Mozambique, then yes famine would be appropriate. Oxfam in SA are involved in projects ranging from HIV/Aids to caring and providing for Aids orphans and various feeding and self help projects. Distribution of seeds to poor communities to grow their own food is also provided for by Oxfam...they are making a difference and their contributions are both needed and appreciated. In Zimbabwe they are very involved in similar projects but focusing mainly on the current cholera crisis. In Southern Africa they are making a great contribution to addressing… [cont.]
